Subject: RE: Crohn's Disease

WC IL
Son was diagnosed with it about 2 years ago after half a dozen trips to the ER with severe abdominal pain that the ER docs always passed off to something else. His GP was trying to get him in for tests, but unfortunately his insurance wanted to try a bunch of other crap before they would approve the tests. He was actually finally scheduled for a colonoscopy when he went to th ER in severe pain and they finally did the colonoscopy as well as an endoscopy and diagnosed him. He ended up with a 5 day hospital stay.
Anyway, he has been using one of the biological injectables where he gives himself a shot at regular intervals, and has changed his diet a bunch. Plenty of things he can’t eat at all, some that cause issues part of the time, and some things he can eat anytime with no problems. Currently being switched on the biological as he is experiences pain in his knees and shoulders and swelling in his hands that they think may be caused by his biological. Think they are switching him to Skyriizi.
He was never heavy at all, in fact was pretty ripped before this started. Don’t know how much weight he has lost, but he is pretty skinny now. Still pretty physically active walks and golfs, plays on a pickle ball team couple of days a week.
