North Central Oregon
Not only Navigation. Those dams generate almost 4000 MW of cheap, clean, reliable and CONSISTANT power. 24/7/365. You cannot beat the reliability of Hydro power. That is 28,000 acres of Solar...When the sun is shining. So I assume you would need another 28,000 acres of solar to charge 4000 MW of battery capacity. But once again, that won't hold up in the winters or under the cloudy/foggy conditions that we have had in the inland Northwest the last few weeks.
Bad deal all the way around if the deal gets done and the dams are removed.
