Nw Iowa | Trump was trying to fix just what you describe , free trade. You would probably wouldn’t be too happy if you were mfg a product, Chinese copy it and than undercut you on price or worse yet just copy your label and sell it as though it was made in the US. He knew farmers would be hurt the worse trying to fix the issue so he provided some gov money to help cushion the issue. Unfortunately if you think trade anywhere is really free trade you are mistaken. There are so many agreements made by so many people at so many levels with so many different interests free trade is a just a word. China has been screwing with US trade for along time and not honoring trade agreements. Farmers are one of few benefiting from trade with China unfortunately. I don’t disagree with you but blaming Trump for trying to start fixing China trade is a not looking at the whole picture. It is pretty obvious that China is our enemy. Trump was calling it what it is and at least hold them accountable in trade. | |
