UP / Thumb of Michigan | Had my second new knee installed Oct 25. Mind you, this was a bad knee that was worn out. Not from an accident. My first knee was from years of abuse, and also having a target on it when I used to race snowmobiles.
Doing therapy now, they seem to think I'm a little ahead of the curve on recovery. I hate to be the one to burst your goals, but I would be EXTREMLY surprised if you can do much of anything physical for a week. I used a walker for 8 days, gradually worked into a cane after the first 6. Just kind of comfortable the last week walking outside on uneven ground without any aids, and I've found myself in spots that I shouldn't have put myself in. Thats after a full knee replacement, when you have other stuff torn up, I can't imagine it being quicker than a knee only recovery wise.
Good luck though. I've been using one of those Polar Ice machines, and its about as good as it gets to keep your new parts cold. | |
