Starlink was a "fiasco" because it was released when it only had US feed approval it had not received US food approval. It was a here thing NOT a there thing. Also it wasn't Monsanto's trait. I believe it was Rhone Planck (sp?) or did Bayer have control of it by "fiasco" time.
SmartStax still needs state approvals and then it's a go.
