7 inches is only about 30k plants/acre Ed. That is a little too low for our area. All the studies done around here are showing the best economic return at 35-38k plants/acre... which gives you about 5.5'' spacing or there about.

Boy the seed companies are breeding in high population plants aren't they... sells more seed. :)

Don't really care as long as yields trend upwards.
