Subject: I made a phone call like that once

Macoupin County IL
One day was at the farm in the middle of harvest my dad had hit his finger with a sledge hammer a week before the doc had done a good job of stiching it back together. We were coming out of the machine shed walk in door the wind was blowing pretty good one of the big doors was open when he walked out of the walk in door the wind sucked the door shut catching his wounded finger in it cutting it off at the first digit. I called my wife who is a RN at work at the hospital in the excitement of the moment I ask her do you put a severed finger directly on ice or should I put it in a bag first, she said put it in a bag not directy on the ice. so I hung up went looking for the rest of the finger not telling her whos finger we were putting on ice. Boy did that get me a but chewing never did find all of the finger think the shed cat had a snack.
