Subject: RE: Dealer auctions

Jeffersonville, OH
Well put.

We take very little to auction, but we do sell on AuctionTime quite a bit anymore. Normally, it's the older stuff that has sat on the lot for a while. Customers are funny, we can have it on the lot for "X" price for months, move it to AuctionTime, and 95% of the time it brings within 10% of what we'd been asking for months.

We rarely sell anything less than 20 years old on there, we advertise and have trucks for a reason, we can deal anywhere and we make our living being in the machinery business. That means, we take trades, we try to be fair, and we have to have units on the lot to have a business!

People that come in and have never been here before normally talk about how much stuff we keep on the lot, because most dealers have nothing, especially the last 2 years since things are short. It takes a LOT of work to keep things moving and here to generate interest.
