North of London		Personally asked by a committee would be best.
Doubt I would put my name forth unless I was asked.

If the people doing the asking do a good job they will likely get good candidates too.

Sometimes the person that just puts their own name forth has a mission and that is not always good for a board.

Now is there a time limit for board members or can they just sit there for life?
