just a tish NE of central ND | Do you have the right orifices for LP or could it have a natural gas orifices installed and controls set up for natural gas?
HAD that happen on a hot water heater I bought one time. Burner orifice was correct but the control pressure changeover on the unit was never changed to LP gas... it acted a LOT like what you describe.
