It's the genetics Ithat stink not the confinement. It's just that is the type of barn that iso weens bred for lean and big litter size not taste tenderness and intramuscular fat.



So if it has nothing to do with your complaint why bring it up?

The Pork industry is aware that it went too far lean. That is why the direction of pork genetics changed course about 4-5 years ago.

The confinements allowed leaner pigs. They weren’t the reason that everyone wanted leaner pigs, that was because the packers were paying more for leaner hogs. Very few packers even have a lean premium anymore but going back 10 years ago the lean premiums were a big deal.
