| There are multiple causes for her symptoms and it is important to be evaluated by a qualified provider. Unfortunatley, there are lots hacks that are peddling "TMJ" treatments which are not evidenced based and many of which are ineffective
TMJ problems usally get treated (at least in part) by a dentist. There is a specialty of dentistry for orofacial pain and a corresponding board certification. The board certified providers are hard to find....especially if you are not close to a large city. Some patients need physical therapy, sometimes meds, or surgery. Locking can be a sign of disc displacement or some other joint dysfunction....so it's important to have an accurate diagnosis to determine the best treatemnt.
I refer my patients to the Minnesota Head and Neck Pain Clinic. https://mhnpc.com/
I know that you're not close to MN, but this is the type of specialty clinc that you need to find.
