I'm guessing the guy and brain surgeons got lucky and were able to remove almost the entire GBM if not all of the tumor which usually is not the case.
Treating GBM with diet might work if the brain tumor/cancer doesn't cause a stroke that ends the persons ability to swallow and paralyze one side of their entire body before any treatment begins after surgery.
