And if you are going to use options an ATM put is around $0.65/bu. Maybe you can sell a call and get down to $0.20/bu or so. There’s another $30/acre.
Also, your area has a positive NC basis? Only way I can see you would get $7.40 on the bushels you do grow today. Even a $0.25 under basis knocks another $35-$40 off that $600 assuming you grow 150 bpa corn…
That possible payoff seems to be shrinking.
