Minnesota | I tend to disagree. I agree with the post about rolling cheaper inputs into 23. PP isn’t that bad vs profitability of planting.
Adding some thoughts. Awhile back I posted about how this could become an issue if it didn’t dry out, and it hasn’t dried out for many people yet. Come Monday, it’s going to be May 23 which will only be a few days away from last planting dates. Mondays planting progress will still show big delays in MN, SD, and ND for sure. It’s very wet in areas of the Northern belt. There will be PP. some will plant but often for reasons not agronomically driven. We’ve lived through several PP scenarios with 19 being the worst. PP In 19 was the best choice, what will be the best choice this year? Unfortunately a lot of farmers are going to fight that battle. The forecast is showing improvement, but for how wet some people are, they need this and more. I feel for all people struggling to get corn in.
