Fruita CO | I use brake cleaner-as do the JD & Cat shops here. Get one of the puncture-type R12 can tappers-they fit a brake cleaner can. I rigged up a valve to control how much goes in-when you tap the can, it GOES...use about 1/2 can in each side of the system, more in the condenser side if the comp. trashed out, then blow out w/shop air. It evaporates nicely, no trace left. I've used it since I started converting systems, no sign of a problem. Buy the cheapest brake cleaner you can find, about $3/can at CarQuest. Caution-wear safety glasses, that crap is no fun in your eyes... | |
