Subject: Pounding nails ....

North End I-15
If a nail is up , pull it and replace with galvanized . Other wise the nail will just come back up .
I re did the roof on this house in 1984 , first roof was put on in 1955. Hail took its tole.
We renailed over every nail on the original sheeting. any that were up were pulled and a new nail was driven in a different spot. When nailing over old nails make sure the head of the new nail laps the old nail . it will hold it down . Roof still looks good.
when the son in law redid his roof we did the same . Stripped it down to the bare wood , renailed , 30 lb tar paper. the 15lb stuff is like toilet paper in compairison.

Steel shingle roofs are real attractive and will be the route we will go if and when this house needs another roof.
