You would think the tech would have hooked to the diagnostic port almost as a first move.
Packerfan had a good point and you didn't really answer. So, for starters, did the tech run a diagnostic on the control side?
Seems like you have done pretty thorough job trouble shooting the mechanical / hydraulic side, but not much attention paid to the control side. Maybe the tech did that and it checked out. Maybe he was working on it and you got impatient and sent him off too soon. Maybe he did not do it at all. Might be a good idea to take an honest look at the control side diagnostics and make certain it was done.
Just a dumb guess by someone who does not know your planter.
