Make a couple short passes with an empty planter, then check the row soil condition. Or put seed in and try a couple short 50-100 foot passes to confirm seed depth and soil condition surrounding it. The seed is cheap compared to the investment made in the rest of the field. You should be able to tell if you have to make adjustments due to sidewall compaction, etc.
