34' may be a little big, but a 4640 should handle a 30' A-OK.
A field cultivator is not a chisel plow.

A lot depends on how much crust you are breaking.

I hesitate to RE to posts like this because if you pull a big field cultivator you -
Pick either or both:
1- Farm poor soil

2- A lousy farmer

Well I bet my soil is about as good as anyones.
Probably am a lousy farmer.

Well I have been pulling a 38 footer with my 180 pto Allis-Chalmers 7080 for years, Have pulled it with the 157 hp White 2-155.
The Oliver V8 doesn't even know it's back there.
When I first got the 80 I was pulling my 30 footer. Always felt I was wasting a lot of tractor on a little dikey digger.

Now if you have some big horseweeds to kill, 24' would be about right for 180 hp.
But if you have big horseweeds to kill, you should be pulling a sprayer.
