SE Michigan | First off, I was shopping for a Skid Steer about 5 yrs ago and (under) $30k would not buy you much that wasn't a wreck, 4-6K plus hours and been through hell and back. Add in today's hyper inflation, and it will get you even less.
And yes, unlike other opinions, bigger is not always better. Less access to tight places, heavier to haul, are the disadvantages that come to mind. Bigger will have it's place, you need to evaluate the size you need and go from there
