Subject: RE: Can a Skid Steer Be Too Big?

Nebraska
Have a 6500 pound wheeled machine here, even with the larger tire size It sinks too easy for my liking, any heavier and it'll really sink, we deal with soft sand ground or mud and it doesnt like either. But it does and has worked for us for 9 years so I cant say too much negative about it...

8-9k pound machine on tracks would be amazing for my uses and soils types! Run around on sand hills without getting stuck and pull trees along sloughs, dig post holes in high water table areas. I have a high back heavy bucket and a track machine with that bucket on would be like a little dozer.... ya only if a had an extra 30k laying around i'd upgrade tommorrow to tracks.
