I've thought about those. I just thought a skid steer would have more uses like, tree pulling, grapple use on brush piles, brush mower and maybe a post hole digger attachment. A small telehandler would work great for pallet fork work but I couldn't think of many other attachments and uses for one.
We have adapters to put any Bobtach attachment on our telehandlers, so yes they can be used 99.9% of the places/jobs a skidder could do, and many times do it better.

here is a shot of the post hole digger screwing an aeration fan in a wet load of wheat, can't do that with a skidder
