Just recently had one done myself. I had them to power trowel to a burn finish. Was practically black when done. This was recommended by a friend of mine, he told me that it would be easy to clean and no need to seal. If not a burn finish then I would probably need to seal. I understand not wanting to slick, but slick helps in cleaning.
