East ks | Not sure how high banks above flow of water you are dealing with. We were faced with a creek in a river bottom. Majority of time was very little flow and a small culvert would have handled it. But anytime we had a major rain event or the river over ran it’s bank and backed the bottom full we would lose the culvert. The permanent fix was a tank car sized culvert. The secret is build the top of the road over the culvert above any flow you anticipate. The overflow goes around the crossing if your culvert can’t handle it. This is usually only a short period of time in major event. You won’t be replacing culvert just a gravel that gets washed away from the road top back aways from where your culvert is. This gives a place for the trash to go around instead of thru the culvert when things get “real wild”. Just our experience yours may vary.
