W Texas | You have to create a good slope. Not sure of your rain fall pattern and soil type, but 2 percent is a hard minimum IMO.
If you have time drive down to Guymon, OK and tour CRI feeders. It was built on level crop ground and they never could get it to drain correctly. Over the years, they literally ripped everything out, moved dirt and rebuilt. It was an expensive process doing it all twice, but they sure got it right the second time.
It's almost impossible to correct the drainage once the concrete and pens are in place. And once you move the dirt, needs a lot of rain on it to get it well packed before concrete. | |
