| Hick is spot on. I started from scratch in 1996. Did annual projects that I could just cash flow with profits. Do not borrow money for facilities when feeding cattle! I’m flat but well drained. When I started I never dreamed it take as much concrete as it has to keep pens in shape economically. I don’t know where or what your dealing with to have to start over, but find feeders you’d trust with your wallet and ask them questions about your layout and plan.....keep expansions in mind always!
I’m very envious of my hired mans new feedyard! Clay based south sloping side hill with excellent wind protection to the north and west! It’s a dream location!!!!!!!! No wonder his great grandfather decided to build yards there in the 60’s.
