The other posters have some good suggestions .

In addition I might suggest the black hills, kinda a "intermediate " mountain riding experience. They have about 400 miles of groomed trails that I'm sure your wife will appreciate, if you wanna go off trail there are expansive meadows ,some hill climbing , and something in between.

I'd recommend trails head lodge and rentals, or spearfish canyon lodge, there are several other lodging and rental places.

The mountain places are fun, togwotee is a good place for beginners as well , something for everybody there.


This. I've been riding the snowies, west yellowstone and island park for 20 years. Wife and I rode the black hills last winter, it was a good time and we intend to take the kids there this winter. One nice thing about the black hills is you are almost always within a few mile ride of somewhere warm/food/drinks, etc
