Subject: Gleaner Unload Auger Clutch Issues

Grabill, Indiana
When preparing for harvest we found that the unload auger on our Gleaner R52 did not engage. We could not figure out the problem so had a service call with local AGCO dealer, the technician thought the problem was the safety module. We got a used one from Spallinger's and installed it but that did not fix the problem. After some switching on and off the auger worked. We put the combine in the barn to wait for dry weather.

Yesterday we went to start cutting soybeans and the auger did not work again. We checked the fuse, and tested voltage at the brush meter, it is 13 =/-, the resistance is 1.6 to 1.9 which is below the 2.0 thresh hold. We found that the Auger would start if we held down on the switch but stop when we let go of the switch. We were trying to figure out the problem when the Auger started spontaneously when the feederhouse was engaged. we have a new switch on order just incase there is something wrong there.

We checked all the grounds, they are tight. We reinstalled the old safety module and had the same issues. Our dealer technician is at a loss beyond checking grounds and replacing the module again. I am beyond frustrated with the situation.

Anyone have any thoughts, suggestions, prayers, hints?
