Had a very similar problem on a R50 and tracked it down to the relay and that's the component that keeps it engaged when you release the rocker switch. The thing is, on the 50 and I suppose 52, it's not just a simple automotive type $30 relay you can get at the auto parts. It's a solid state component about the size of a deck of cards, plastic/epoxy molded thing under the right hand console. Wasn't cheap and had to order it, but kinda had to have it.

Just something to check into.
