I agree with Farmerjonathon, you dont want to be spreading infections. In the hospitals defense it would be a nightmare to allow access to the covid ward.  When you see the staff gowned up ,facemasks, faceshields, gloves, and hand sanitizer imagine the added responsibilities you woud burden the staff with.  The staff currently os way overworked and stressed as it is.  It was the most depressing sight to be wheeld into that plastic bubble door.  Honestly having spent a week in a covid ward I'd rather have phone calls or zoom meetings.  you can send things in like a tablet.  In stead of cards to the patient send them to the staff.  I got great treatment when I ordered them pizza from my room. (the bastards wouldnt share as I was on a restricted soft diet). 

I realize its a hard and gut wrenching situation, but you'll have to do the best you can.
