| This wouldn't be a huge problem if competition isn't limited. There is no reason I can't develop an amazing soda called Patpop from Patco bottling. If I have a product that the market thinks is truly better, it will buy it. My problem comes in when I'm suddenly investigated for Russian collusion and failing to file a 106.44.11198.2/A form allowing me to sell a superior product. This form, naturally, has to be approved by the other companies and I must include my secret recipe. Usually this results in Pepsi coming out with my drink renamed PepPop. Of course by signing the form I also agree to not sue for patent infringement (very fine print).
I'm being a little silly but there are lots of barriers to competition that sound like they protect the consumer, but really just protect the companies sponsoring the legislation. | |
