What does it mean only ran out 3/16? Is that thickness or width I guess since it's square all the edges are the same.

On the “front” of that beam where I start a cut it’s 12” exactly,34’ down the log it’s 12-3/16” which means the saw “ran out” of the log 3/16 of an inch from one end to the other. Circle saws naturally tend to run out of the log as the teeth get dull or the saw heats up.3/16 over 34 feet is not bad.
