We're in our 30's and my wife and I made the decision to quit her dream job 6 figure salary to take care of our kids. It isn't because she doesn't want to work but more that covid changed daycare rules. Our kids were getting kicked out for 2 weeks each time they had a teething fever. She can always go back to work when daycare becomes reliable.....and by the way there isn't daycare available. Get on a waiting list 1 year before you think you need it. Pretty tough for families to have 2 employed adults right now.
My wife stayed home to care for our kids until they both got to the age of attending school full time, which was about two months ago.
Daycare is insanely cheap around here. Quality of care varies wildly. Good friend hired a full day nanny for their children, we would have done the same if my wife chose to pursue a career 8 years ago. |
