Subject: RE: Skid loader or telehandler

Columbia Basin, Ephrata, WA

We have 16 years and 7000+ hours on a Manitou MLT523. The list of things it’ll do that a SSL can’t is very long. About the only place it lags badly is the ability to run high flow hydraulic attachments, but I understand some newer model telehandlers are getting that capability.

For the jobs you listed, the small telehandler is a no brainer. If you’re on the fence, keep in mind that your kids are getting to an age where they’re going to be running whatever you get. Ask yourself if you want them getting out of a SSL under the loader arms and full seed box they have lifted up, or if you’d rather they can hop out the side and stay clear.
