They're trying to build a 3500+ acres solar farm on the NW outskirts of Cedar Rapids right now. Trying to convince farmer and landowners to lease their land out for some significant dollars per acre.. Some have bit, but I think most are holding out or refusing.
NextEra is the company building a lot of these, I'm sure they're raking in millions in profit via government subsidies to build these eyesores.
