Subject: Ontario, you are inaccurate on the technology point!

farmer in ontario - 12/29/2009 23:08

monsanto did not invent the technology though, they bought all the companies who had the technology out. (Holden's etc.) Why the others Pioneers, the Dow's etc did not get as far is really hard to say?

But the only company going after farmers with legal documents and forced signatures to the extreme is monsanto.

Congradulations on the success of your farm, (And I mean that sincerely!)

But can I ask you, do you buy all your seed monsanto, or do you support others as well?

All I ask is that you kindly consider not creating a monopoly in the seed business, and spread some of your wealth around. So that in another 10 years from now, you (and all of us) still have some choices and some competition.

The problem about the way this post was created is anyone who differs with monsanto is a "hater", and that is not fair. Like Larry the Cable guy says: "I could do this all day long!" But is calling people monsanto "lovers" any better?

I kindly ask you for forgiveness for the "head in the sand" comment. I do not believe you are such a individual. (But please take into consideration what I have said as you move your company forward.)

Monsanto purchases Holdens for the genetic platform in which to place their biotech traits. Most of the companies they have purchased have been marketing firms, not technology developers. Channel Bio is made up of relatively smaller regional companies who only sell seed. Actually, companies like Sygenta started the trend of purchasing market share when they bought Golden Harvest, Gaarst, etc,
