Why does Monsanto not have any competition?? Because no other company wanted to invest in biotech like Monsanto did. Companies such as DuPont and Bayer could have started 10 to 15 years earlier but they didn't. So why are you not blaming them for not getting in the market and creating more competition?? If Monsanto has a monopoly it is only because these other companies didn't do any research.

Monsanto is pricing their products where people will buy them. When John Deere, Case, or Wal Mart or any other company sells products, they will sell those products at the highest price that the consumer will pay for it. Monsanto is no different. If farmers don't want to pay for the Tech and the seed then they can go buy conventional seed and plant it and farm it any way they want.

I am farming 4 times as much land as I farmed 10 years ago. I am making almost double the yields I made 10 years ago. I make more profit per acre than I did 10 years ago. My land is in better shape than it was 10 years ago. I travel more and my life is a lot easier than it was 10 years ago. If you call that sticking my head in the sand then fine. There are a lot more farmers sticking their heads in the sand than those that you are sitting here trying to preach to.
