Subject: RE: actually many of those 3rd world countries have many problems,,

95h - 12/30/2009 00:14

the result is starvation or lack of food.

America pumps alot of raw $$$$ to all parts of the world. Shipping/transportation sure is not a problem, shoot we get ship loads of krap from china here in 4 days after all.  And by admission we are the most food productive country and inovative country (in regards to farming NOT manufacturing) in the world. Those countries really don't have any stable governments even the semi-stable are corrupt, infrastructure and adaquadate storage is non-existant.

Net result is starvation and lack of food.

People in parts of the world have starved for centuries and will continue to starve for several more centuries.

The base problem is people of those countries have to form their governments to allow for personal growth (or freedom to win or fail) on their own.

Actually in many ways we could be looking at the future of America if we continue to stifle productivity and ingeunity, etc.etc.etc.. and look past the socialistic concept that everyone is guarenteed the right to everything.  That only works until the point that everyone has nothing.

In the post on banking ,,, that is one of the "fundamentals" of any society and  several have reported about the predator banks paying 10c on the dollar then turning around and selling for 90% pure profit. That is a fundamental which should be modified. Not wholesale "changed" but modified to a point where it is fair to the "little guys" but still remains a good profit motive for the "big guys".  All "big guys" equals something like China where everything is "overly controlled",, the other hand..??  is those 3rd world countries that have nothing.

yelp, complain, whatever.. just my 2 cents....

Btw.. didn't we "start out" just helping Brazil become sort of "self-sucficent?? (sp)  where is Brazil now ??  Out producing and out competing the US.

I agree with parts of your post, especially where the US may be heading if we don't stop the socialistic wave we are on with the current administration. I'm a common sense "Tea Party Advocate" which is why I have been the devils advocate in supporting Monsanto on this forum. Monsanto to me is just the more recent example of US ingenuity. I understand why several people on this forum are upset with the price increases of the past several years and the culture of control that Monsanto represents. However, none of this changes the fact that they have been excellent for the most part in bringing new technology to farming. Now what we need are for the 'others' to step up and bring technologies to compete with Monsanto. The "others" are the Dow's, Syngenta's and yes DuPont. You will see the competition heat up in the soybean herbicide market in the next few years with various new roundup plus growth regulator type events that will change things dramatically. Why do you think Monsanto has been pushing the new RR2Y so hard this year. They know the competition is about to heat up. The thing is, they are investing way more $$ in biotech than anyone else. The odds are with them to stay ahead of the competition.
