Thanks Norvin. I do understand what you mean. However if the strip tilled corn on corn you mentioned "looked respectable immediatly post planting" as you say I think the strip till did its job. I don't know who that may be east of Jackson, but it sounds to me like that crop ran out of nitrogen....
If you are from that area you probably know the folks north of Jackson who strip till. Their strip tilled corn and beans have always looked (from the road) as good or better than other crops in the area any time I ride up and down 71. One requirement for strip tilling as shown in the above pictures is that you have to have a tough hide at the coffee shop. You will be skewered many times during the season by the drive-by crop consultants. The banker may be the final judge however. Sorry if my enthusiasm gets carried away some times. Jim at Dawn
