southern MN | I would guess younger guys have quite a bit of debt trying to build up and grow and get set.
Some older guys that don’t need to grow and want to get to retirement in a good place are probably drawing the debt down to zero.
Neither situation is good or bad (well, unless you are too deep in or so conservative you can’t continue on), just different goals for where they are in life.
I’m rapidly becoming an old guy. Had some debt for 5 years when I bought 55 acres 7 years ago, but got that cleaned up.
