SESD
I have a crary closer and it does not get wide enough for the bigger trenches either. I'm thinking a 3pt disc that's 10' wide or something and change front gang to same as back. I also have been looking at these pivot track closers. Like an orthman. Basically, it has a disc gang on the 3pt that is about 9' wide, and maybe a packer on the back with a cylinder to raise/lower. I like to use a track tractor for closing because you can straddle them, tractors with narrower spacing are miserable to keep centered on the trench. I do use my dozer with 6way blade at times as well. Only problem is it also has the plow on the back and can be cumbersome.. I think a blade like you mention or a small dozer with a 6way would work good.
