Kansas
That year on the last field of soybeans the auger buckled behind the home position rest it sits on.

So I went to the iron pile and made a bandage from an inner part from the old combine hoping to finish corn and Milo harvest.

So on the last corn field and last pivot track it gave way. The bandage probably added a bit to much weight to a worn out auger.

Now the fun part of the story. My sister was driving the grain cart and an uncle of ours was riding with her. He is from the city and very opinionated and was in deep conversation when this happened. My sister felt it happen and we both just came to a nice gentle stop without communication and he starts saying you better stop because the auger fell down.

I’ve learned to put relation in the cart because usually only half of the instructions need to be verbalized.
