Subject: RE: Dryer site from scratch

Ogema, MN
I would design it with 3 bins, 2 for dry one wet. I would do a 48x48 75-80,000 bu bin for dry then something for wet. Then put them in line with a 20 foot gap between the we to dry side and leave out the first 48x48 so you can just have one dry to start and can fill with a auger out of dryer and in future add other dry bin with a leg and conveyor have room for more on the end. Put in a continuous dryer that is low enough to fill with a auger. Then fill wet bin with a swing away. This allows least up front cost with expandability in the future. You can even add more bins to wet side and make use of dump leg for harvest to fill bins with beans or in a big corn year they can hold corn instead.
