Subject: RE: Dryer site from scratch

SW Ontario
If your neighbours have their site/fields close by then having big capacity isn't quite as important. If the partnership breaks up what kind of harvest capacity would you want/need? Looking at your current size I'd have a wet bin big enough for at least 1 day of harvest and size the dryer (continuous flow) to whatever you can afford. Build a good driveway and build the site up so you have adequate drainage. Depending on your rainfall/water table you might want to consider bypassing the pit and put those funds towards upsizing your receiving capacity. You have an advantage in that you have a clean slate with gas and 3 phase, don't mess it up by trying to pinch pennies on the receiving/drying infrastructure.
