| Well I’m a young guy(27)and I just built a 2500hd last year. Obviously I think it’s an ok thing and there are a lot of people around here that think they are good investments too. I spent right at 700k to get mine built and I can easily make my payments and have some wiggle room. My contract is 41.50 per pig space. There are some barns being built by young farmers but I think the well established guys are building more of them then the guys that are just starting out. Time will tell but I think barns that are being built now are being built better then barns 15 years ago. I have been hearing that barns this year will cost 100k more then last year so now might not be a great idea unless companies are willing to pay more. Located south of Frytown IA | |
