If you borrowed or spent 1.2mil to be someone’s slave for 15 years I’d bet you’d say the same thing............just my opinion. Now the ones that got in say in the late 90’s 2000’s...........those barns cash flowed a fair amount of dirt. Today it’s all together different math.
Bingo, Dad built a 2400 in 2006, same building basically costs double today. Same payment rate per pig space as well as electric, water, labor, etc are higher. Only way it makes sense is to pay yourself handsomely for manure, which is pretty sketchy. Work for 15 years for nothing and finally pay the building off that is now worn out. Not to mention the way things are going hell it will probably be illegal to raise hogs 15 years from now. |
