It has been proven before there was discrimination. Guess that doesn't matter to most.

If they were forgiving loans or creating grants to people and families that were directly affected by past discrimination, it would have strong merit in my mind.

As a blanket loan forgiveness to any black person who happens to have a farm loan at this time, the program is laughably ridiculous and even more so discriminatory than the previous discrimination against blacks.

It fixes no wrongs, it addresses no discrimination at all, it is nothing but discriminatory as it is.

Ridiculous program.

Excellent point. The people that were actually discriminated against (some of them I assume may be out of farming currently possibly due to said discrimination) get zip if they don't currently still have a loan with the USDA. But someone who may not have been discriminated against in the slightest degree would qualify for loan forgiveness as long as they meet the only requirement - skin color. So yes they are not helping the people that were actually harmed by the USDA in the past but instead lumping all farmers of a certain skin color together. The deeper you look at it the more insidious it is. It's not only racist to those that do not qualify based on their skin color it is also very presumptive to say "here you, non white person, have some money because you look like people we hurt in the past".
