One of the best trips we ever went on was an Alaska cruise / land package. 4 or 5 days on land, then a week sailing the coast.
There is so much to see and do , if you just take the cruise, you will wish you had spent a few days on land. 
Amazing place and folks.The cruise line we used was Princess Cruise Lines, no complaints, all went very smoothly.
