My father used to like to tell about the family that came to their winter basketball games. They didn't have the money to waste on antifreeze so they'd fill the Model T with hot water at home, drive to the school and drain the water. Then when the games were over they'd take out some hot water fill the car and drive home. Those tough times made some tough people. The kids from that family grew up to be some pretty prominent people around the area. |
